Watercolor Paper Lotus Lantern -Galaxy-

Inspired by Japanese Lotus Lanterns, and part of my Watercolor Collection.
I was inspired by the majesty of the Galaxy to paint the colors, using multiple shades on one side, topped with a pearlescent shimmer and white stars. The opposite side is also painted with a pearl shimmer.

When ordered, the page is painted with watercolor, before cutting out the petals.
Then I cut out the petals using both machine and hand.
The petals are then glued in place.

Since it is all hand made, each flower looks slightly different.
And since it is hand painted, each flowers colors can be slightly different, and have some faults.

The finishing touch is a layer of hot glue on the bottom, to add a little slip resistance.

Inside is a battery operated tea light that gives off a flickering glow.
I use a special light, that, to turn on and off, simply push lightly down on an edge of the tea light. (see video)
The battery is replaceable.

The design is of my own making, taking trial and error to create.
