-Spring- Watercolor Paper Lotus Lantern
Inspired by Japanese Lotus Lanterns, and part of my Watercolor Collection.
I was inspired by the beauty and feelings of Spring and fresh cut grass when using different shades of green to paint the colors.

When ordered, the page is painted with watercolor, before cutting out the petals.
Then I cut out the petals using both machine and hand.
The petals are then glued in place.

Since it is all hand made, each flower looks slightly different.
And since it is hand painted, each flowers colors can be slightly different, and have some faults.

The finishing touch is a layer of hot glue on the bottom, to add a little slip resistance.

Inside is a battery operated tea light that gives off a flickering glow.
I use a special light, that, to turn on and off, simply push lightly down on an edge of the tea light.
The battery is replaceable.
The design is of my own making, taking trial and error to create.
